And I don't use the phrase lightly. Elizabeth II was a gift to the world, a royal who truly lived the notion that royalty exists to serve the people, not the other way around. She was an anchor for the Commonwealth countries through a very turbulent seven decades.
But to all things comes an end. Her end has come upon us now, leaving it incumbent upon us all to step up and live our own stability, now that Her Majesty is no longer here to anchor us amid the storms of these times.
I'm sure Charles III will do his best, but his mother is a damn near impossible act to follow.
